This classic patty melt combines juicy beef patties, caramelized onions, and melted cheese between slices of golden grilled bread—comfort food perfection!

- ½ yellow onion thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon butter
- ½ lb ground beef
- ¼ teaspoon seasoning salt
- ¼ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 4 slices rye bread
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
- 2 slices cheddar cheese
- 2 slices Swiss cheese

- In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and sauté the onions until caramelized, about 15 minutes. Set aside.
- In a bowl, mix ground beef with seasoning salt and Worcestershire sauce. Shape into two thin patties.
- Cook patties in a skillet over medium-high heat for 3–4 minutes on each side, or until cooked through. Set aside.
- Spread mayonnaise on one side of each bread slice. Assemble sandwich with Swiss cheese, a patty, caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, and another bread slice.
- Grill assembled sandwich in a skillet over medium heat, pressing down lightly, until bread is golden and cheese is melted—about 3–4 minutes per side.
