  • ½ yellow onion thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • ½ lb ground beef
  • ¼ teaspoon seasoning salt
  • ¼ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 slices rye bread
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 2 slices cheddar cheese
  • 2 slices Swiss cheese

  • In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and sauté the onions until caramelized, about 15 minutes. Set aside.
  • In a bowl, mix ground beef with seasoning salt and Worcestershire sauce. Shape into two thin patties.
  • Cook patties in a skillet over medium-high heat for 3–4 minutes on each side, or until cooked through. Set aside.
  • Spread mayonnaise on one side of each bread slice. Assemble sandwich with Swiss cheese, a patty, caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, and another bread slice.
  • Grill assembled sandwich in a skillet over medium heat, pressing down lightly, until bread is golden and cheese is melted—about 3–4 minutes per side.
