Instructions
First, heat that oil in your skillet over medium heat. You wanna get it nice and warm before anything goes in so it doesn’t stick.
Next, toss in the potatoes. Stir them every now and then, cook for about 8 minutes till they soften up a bit but don’t fall apart yet.
After that, add your chopped onion and minced garlic in there. Cook them for a good 2 to 3 minutes until the onion gets translucent and smells real good.
Slide the sliced kielbasa into the pan and let it brown. Give it about 5 minutes, stirring sometimes so it all gets that lovely golden edge.
Then dump in the shredded cabbage, add 2 tablespoons of water, sprinkle your salt and pepper. Give everything a good stir so it mixes well.
Cover your skillet and let it cook for another 5 minutes. You gotta stir a bit here and there to keep things mingling and make sure cabbage softens nice and potatoes finish cooking.
When you peek inside, the cabbage should be tender and the potatoes cooked right through. Taste for seasoning, add a bit more salt or pepper if it needs. Serve it hot and dig in!
Notes
For this recipe, the cabbage should be barely wilted with a slight crunch. If you prefer more tender cabbage, cook a few minutes longer before serving.
