In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Use your hands to mix the ingredients until just combined; do not overwork the meat.
Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indent in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.
Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
Place the patties in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded. You may need to cook in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
Air fry the burgers for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C) for medium doneness.
If you’re adding cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last 1-2 minutes of cooking to allow it to melt.
Once cooked, remove the patties from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes.
Serve the hamburgers on buns with your choice of toppings.
