1 air fryer
1 mixing bowl
1 measuring spoons
1 salad spinner or towel
- 1 bunch kale About 8 ounces.
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder Optional.
- 1 teaspoon nutritional yeast Optional for cheesy flavor.
Start by washing the kale thoroughly. Remove the tough stems and tear the leaves into bite-sized pieces.
Use a salad spinner or towel to dry the kale leaves completely, as excess moisture will prevent them from becoming crispy.
In a mixing bowl, combine the melted olive oil, sea salt, garlic powder, and nutritional yeast (if using).
Add the dried kale leaves to the bowl and toss until the leaves are evenly coated with the oil and seasoning mixture.
Place the kale in the air fryer basket in a single layer. You may need to do this in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
Set the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) and cook for about 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking. Keep an eye on the chips to prevent burning.
Once they are crispy and slightly browned, remove the kale chips from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
Store any leftover kale chips in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days for the best texture.
Feel free to experiment with different seasonings to customize the flavor according to your preference.
For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the seasoning mix.
