  • 1 cup all-purpose flour 120g.
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs 120g.
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • as needed cooking spray or olive oil spray To help become crispier.

Instructions

  • Peel the onions and slice them into ½-inch thick rings. Carefully separate the rings and set them aside in a mixing bowl.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the two eggs until frothy.
  • Place the breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  • Dredge each onion ring in the flour mixture first, ensuring it's fully coated. Shake off any excess flour.
  • Dip the floured ring into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off.
  • Coat the ring with breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere. Repeat this process for all onion rings.
  • Arrange the coated onion rings in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
  • Lightly spray the onion rings with cooking spray or olive oil spray to aid crispiness.
  • Cook the onion rings in the air fryer for 10-12 minutes, flipping them halfway through cooking until they are golden brown and crispy.
  • Once cooked, remove the onion rings from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

You can experiment with different spices in the breadcrumb mixture for added flavor.
Serve with your favorite dipping sauce, like ranch or marinara, for an extra kick.
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in the air fryer for a few minutes to restore crispiness. Enjoy your healthier onion rings!
