Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cup all-purpose flour to give the donuts their tender base
  • cup light brown sugar adds a touch of sweetness and depth
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda helps the donuts rise just right
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder for that extra fluffy lift
  • ¾ teaspoon salt to balance all the sweetness and bring out flavor
  • 1 egg binds everything together real good
  • cup plain, non-fat yogurt keeps the donuts moist and tender
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil smooth and neutral, perfect for baking
  • ¼ cup whole milk for that creamy richness
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract to flavor the batter beautifully
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar mixed with 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon for the delicious coating
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon for the cinnamon sugar coating
  • ¼ cup butter, melted to make the cinnamon sugar stick nicely on each donut

Instructions

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease the donut pan real good with butter or cooking spray. This just makes sure your donuts slide right out after baking.
  • Grab a big bowl and mix the flour, brown sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Stir it all up so the flavors get to know each other.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the egg, yogurt, vegetable oil, milk, and vanilla extract. Whisk until it’s smooth and kinda silky.
  • Pour the wet stuff into the dry ingredients. Go gentle here don't over mix cause you want your donuts light and fluffy, not tough.
  • Spoon your batter into the donut pan and fill each cavity about two-thirds full. This way they rise just right without spilling over.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes. Use a toothpick to check; if it comes out clean you’re golden.
  • Let the donuts cool just a bit so they’re warm and easy to handle, not too hot or they’ll fall apart.
  • Roll the warm donuts in a butter then cinnamon sugar mix. The butter helps that cinnamon sugar stick real good giving you that perfect sweet crunch outside with soft inside.
