1 oven
1 baking sheet
1 mixing bowl
1 spoon or spatula
1 grater for cheese
- 12 oz tortilla chips
- 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup salsa
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or a cheese blend)
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon chili powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup chopped green onions optional for garnish
- ¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro optional for garnish
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine the black beans, sour cream, salsa, ground cumin, garlic powder, chili powder, and salt. Mash the mixture slightly with a spoon or spatula, leaving some bean chunks for texture.
On a baking sheet, spread out the tortilla chips in an even layer.
Spoon the bean mixture evenly over the chips.
Sprinkle the shredded cheese generously over the top of the bean mixture.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove from the oven and, if desired, sprinkle with chopped green onions and cilantro for added flavor and garnish.
Allow it to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your Bean Dip Nachos!
You can customize the toppings based on your preferences. Consider adding sliced jalapeños or black olives for extra flavor.
If you want a spicier version, feel free to add hot sauce to the bean mixture.
