Equipment

  • 1 oven
  • 1 baking sheet
  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 whisk
  • 1 skillet
  • 1 spoon or spatula

Ingredients

  • 1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 1 lb ground sausage (breakfast sausage)
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 large eggs
  • to taste fresh parsley (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • On a baking sheet, open the can of biscuit dough and separate the biscuits. Flatten each biscuit with your hands or a rolling pin to form a thin crust that covers the baking sheet, pressing the seams together to seal.
  • Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the biscuit crust for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from oven and set aside.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground sausage until it is browned and fully cooked. Break it apart with a spatula as it cooks.
  • Once the sausage is cooked, sprinkle the flour over the sausage and stir to combine for about 1 minute. Gradually add the milk while whisking to avoid lumps. Continue cooking until the mixture thickens, then season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir well and remove from heat.
  • Spread a generous layer of sausage gravy evenly across the baked biscuit crust. Crack the two eggs on top, spacing them evenly. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the entire pizza.
  • Return the pizza to the oven and cook for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the cheese is bubbly and melted.
  • Once done, remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a couple of minutes. Cut into slices and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Feel free to add toppings such as diced tomatoes, bell peppers, or cooked bacon for added flavor.
If you prefer a spicier dish, consider adding some red pepper flakes or hot sauce to the gravy.
This breakfast pizza can be served alongside fresh fruit or a light salad for a complete meal. Enjoy!
