Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped (about 150 g)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium head cabbage, chopped (about 1.5 lbs or 680 g)
  • 4 medium carrots, sliced (about 300 g)
  • 2 medium potatoes, diced (about 300 g)
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes (410 g), with juice
  • 4 cups beef broth (960 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat and set aside.
  • In the slow cooker, add the chopped cabbage, carrots, and potatoes.
  • Layer the cooked ground beef on top of the vegetables.
  • Add the diced tomatoes (with their juice), chopped onion, minced garlic, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, salt, and pepper to the slow cooker.
  • Stir the ingredients gently to combine.
  • Cover the slow cooker and set it to low. Cook for 6 hours, or until the vegetables are tender.
  • Once cooked, taste and adjust seasoning if necessary before serving.
  • For a bit of extra flavor, consider adding some bay leaves or a splash of balsamic vinegar before cooking.
