Ingredients
  

  • 1 head green cabbage about 2 pounds, chopped
  • 1 pound kielbasa sausage sliced into ½ inch rounds
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt adjust to taste
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon paprika smoked or sweet
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar optional

Instructions
 

  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the diced onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes or until the onion is translucent.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add the sliced kielbasa to the skillet and cook for about 5 minutes until lightly browned.
  • Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet, stirring to combine with the kielbasa and onions.
  • Season the mixture with salt, black pepper, and paprika. Stir well to ensure the cabbage is evenly coated.
  • Cover the skillet and let it cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender.
  • If desired, stir in apple cider vinegar for added flavor before serving.
  • Taste and adjust seasonings if necessary, then serve hot.

Notes

You can add other vegetables like bell peppers or carrots for extra color and nutrition.
For a bit of heat, consider adding red pepper flakes to the seasoning mix.
This dish can be easily reheated and makes great leftovers.
