- 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced
- 4 cups green cabbage, chopped
- 1 large onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil 15ml
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika 5g
- ½ teaspoon black pepper 2g
- ½ teaspoon salt 2g
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar 15ml
- 1 cup chicken broth 240ml
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the sliced sausage and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned.
Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until the onion is soft and translucent.
Stir in the chopped cabbage, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt. Continue to cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage wilts.
Pour in the chicken broth and apple cider vinegar. Stir to combine and cover the skillet with a lid.
Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender and has absorbed the flavors.
Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve hot.
You can substitute the smoked sausage with turkey sausage or chicken sausage for a lighter option.
Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or carrots for added nutrition.
This dish can easily be made ahead of time and reheated for leftovers.
