Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

  • 4 hamburger buns

Instructions
 

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Once hot, add the chopped onion and bell pepper. Sauté for about 5 minutes, or until the vegetables are soft and translucent.
  • Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute, stirring frequently to prevent burning.
  • Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground chicken to the skillet. Break it apart with a wooden spoon. Sprinkle the Cajun seasoning over the chicken and cook until browned and fully cooked, about 6-8 minutes.
  • Stir in the tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar. Reduce heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 5-7 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • While the mixture simmers, toast the hamburger buns in a toaster or oven until golden brown.
  • To serve, spoon the Cajun chicken mixture onto each toasted bun. Add any optional toppings such as pickles, cheese, or parsley, if desired.
  • For a spicier version, consider adding diced jalapeños to the mixture or serving with hot sauce.
  • This recipe can be made ahead of time and reheated for an easy meal.
