Equipment

  • 1 Baking sheet
  • 1 Grill or stovetop pan
  • 1 Knife
  • 1 Cutting board
  • 12 Toothpicks or small skewers

Ingredients
  

  • 12 small slider rolls (such as brioche or dinner rolls)
  • 12 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 3 large ripe tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves
  • ½ cup balsamic glaze
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your grill or stovetop pan over medium heat.
  • While the grill is heating up, assemble the sliders. Cut each slider roll in half horizontally.
  • On the bottom half of each roll, layer a slice of mozzarella cheese, a slice of tomato, and a few basil leaves.
  • Drizzle a small amount of balsamic glaze on top of the basil leaves. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Place the top half of the roll on each slider to close.
  • Brush the outside of each assembled slider with extra virgin olive oil.
  • Place the sliders on the grill or pan, and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the bread is toasted and the cheese is slightly melted.
  • Remove the sliders from the heat and secure them with toothpicks or skewers if desired.
  • Serve warm, drizzled with any remaining balsamic glaze.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, ensure that the slider rolls do not contain eggs or dairy (if necessary).
You can add a layer of pesto for extra flavor.
If you prefer cold sliders, you can skip the grilling step and serve them fresh.
