Equipment

  • 1 baking sheet
  • 1 parchment paper
  • 1 double boiler or microwave-safe bowl
  • 1 spatula
  • 1 knife for chopping apples

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup caramel sauce store-bought or homemade
  • 1 large apple, finely chopped about 1 cup
  • ½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts optional
  • to taste sea salt for sprinkling, optional

Instructions

  • Prepare the baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
  • In a double boiler or microwave-safe bowl, melt the dark chocolate. If using a microwave, heat in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
  • Once melted, pour the chocolate onto the prepared baking sheet and spread it evenly with a spatula to create a flat layer.
  • Drizzle the caramel sauce over the melted chocolate, then gently swirl it into the chocolate for a marbled effect.
  • Evenly distribute the chopped apple pieces over the surface of the chocolate and caramel mixture.
  • If using, sprinkle the chopped nuts over the top for added crunch.
  • Finish by lightly sprinkling sea salt over the bark, enhancing the flavors.
  • Refrigerate the bark for about 1 to 2 hours, or until fully set.
  • Once set, remove the chocolate bark from the baking sheet and break it into pieces or cut it into squares with a sharp knife.

Notes

For added flavor, consider using flavored chocolate (like milk or white chocolate) instead of dark chocolate.
This bark can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
Feel free to customize the toppings based on your preferences—dried fruits, mini marshmallows, or other nuts work well too.
