Ingredients
  

  • 2 medium apples Choose your favorite variety.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Or cheese of your choice.
  • ¼ cup cream cheese Softened.
  • 1 tablespoon honey Optional.
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup walnuts Chopped, optional.

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Core and slice the apples into about ¼-inch thick rounds. Leave the skin on for added texture and flavor.
  • In a small mixing bowl, combine the shredded cheddar cheese, softened cream cheese, honey (if using), cinnamon, and salt. Mix until smooth.
  • Place the apple slices on the prepared baking sheet. Using a spoon, dollop a generous amount of the cheese mixture onto the center of each apple slice.
  • If desired, sprinkle chopped walnuts over the cheese-topped apple slices for added crunch.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with different types of cheese, such as mozzarella or gouda, for unique flavor profiles.
For a healthier version, consider using low-fat cheese and skipping the honey.
