Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 1 pound ground chicken lean and perfect for tacos
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder adds that savory punch
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder rounding out the aromatics
  • ½ teaspoon salt just enough to bring all flavors forward
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper just enough to bring all flavors forward
  • 8 fajita size flour tortillas soft, warm, and ready to hold the stuff
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil for cooking and flavor
  • 2 Romaine hearts crisp and refreshing for topping
  • cup parmesan cheese shaved, sharp, salty, and creamy
  • cup creamy Caesar dressing the cool drizzle that ties it all up
  • ¼ cup panko breadcrumbs for that crunchy finish
  • ½ Tablespoon salted butter for that crunchy finish

Instructions

Instructions

  • Heat that olive oil in your largest skillet over medium heat. You want it shimmering but not smoking.
  • Toss in your ground chicken. Sprinkle the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper right on there.
  • Give the mixture a good stir, breaking up the chicken into little bits with your spatula. Cook it until its totally browned and no pink remains. This should take 8 to 10 minutes.
  • While chicken is doing its thing, warm your tortillas. Use a skillet or zap em in the microwave for a few seconds to get em nice and flexible.
  • Chop up those Romaine hearts. You want em fresh and crisp, not soggy or wilty.
  • Once chickens done, start assembling. Lay some chicken on each warm tortilla like youre building taco towers.
  • Top with chopped Romaine, then sprinkle on the shaved parmesan. Drizzle the creamy Caesar dressing over it all for that saucy touch.
  • Serve right away while the tortillas are soft and chicken is still warm. If you wait, the chicken might lose that tender pull you worked hard for.

Notes

Substitute ground turkey or ground beef for the ground chicken. Add additional seasonings, such as paprika, oregano, Italian seasoning or cayenne pepper. Use any type of lettuce in place of Romaine. Use mini street taco tortillas to make appetizer tacos. Use caesar vinaigrette dressing instead of creamy caesar dressing. Add croutons in place of panko breadcrumbs. Add crispy bacon for extra flavor. Store leftover smash patty tortillas and caesar salad separately. Smash patty tortillas keep 3-4 days refrigerated, caesar salad up to 1 day.
