Equipment

  • 1 oven
  • 1 baking sheet
  • 1 skillet
  • 1 spatula or wooden spoon
  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 grater for cheese
  • 1 cutting board

Ingredients

  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (1 oz)
  • 1 can refried beans (15 oz)
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • ½ cup sliced black olives
  • ¼ cup sliced green onions
  • ½ cup sour cream (for serving)
  • to taste hot sauce (optional, for serving)
  • as needed cooking oil (for frying)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a skillet over medium heat, add a little cooking oil and brown the ground beef. Once cooked through, drain any excess fat.
  • Stir in the taco seasoning with a splash of water. Reduce heat and let simmer for about 5 minutes, allowing flavors to meld.
  • Prepare a baking sheet by laying out two flour tortillas. Spread a layer of refried beans on each tortilla.
  • Add the seasoned beef on top of the refried beans, then sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Place another tortilla on top of each pizza. Add another layer of refried beans, another layer of seasoned beef, and top with more cheese.
  • Place the assembled pizzas in the oven and bake for about 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the tortillas are golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and top with diced tomatoes, sliced black olives, and sliced green onions.
  • Slice each pizza into quarters and serve hot with a dollop of sour cream and optional hot sauce on the side.

Notes

Feel free to customize your toppings with ingredients like jalapeños, avocado, or lettuce for extra freshness.
If you prefer, you can use shredded chicken or turkey instead of ground beef for a lighter option.
For extra crunch, you can lightly fry the tortillas in a skillet until crispy before assembling the pizzas.
