- 4 pieces chicken breasts 6 oz each
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- to taste garnish fresh parsley, chopped For garnish
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper on both sides.
Once the oil is hot, add the chicken breasts to the skillet. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on one side until golden brown. Flip and cook for an additional 5-6 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Pour in the chicken broth, scraping any browned bits off the bottom of the skillet. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream, dried Italian herbs, and Parmesan cheese. Allow it to simmer for another 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
Return the chicken to the skillet, coat it with the creamy sauce, and let it simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes.
Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
This dish pairs well with pasta, rice, or a green salad.
You can customize the flavor by adding mushrooms or spinach to the sauce.
For added heat, consider incorporating red pepper flakes.
