- 4 medium sweet potatoes About 2 pounds.
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper Optional, for heat.
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
Peel the sweet potatoes and cut them into even cubes, around 1-inch in size.
In a mixing bowl, combine the sweet potato cubes with olive oil, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Toss until the sweet potatoes are well coated.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easier cleanup (optional). Spread the sweet potatoes out in a single layer on the baking sheet, ensuring they are not crowded.
Roast in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, flipping the sweet potatoes halfway through to ensure they crisp evenly.
Check for doneness by piercing a sweet potato cube with a fork; it should be tender and slightly crispy on the outside.
Once done, remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
For extra crispiness, you can soak the sweet potato cubes in cold water for 30 minutes before draining and drying them thoroughly.
Feel free to experiment with different spices based on your preference. Cumin or chili powder can provide a nice twist!
Serve these crispy roasted sweet potatoes with a dip like hummus or yogurt for added flavor.
