  • 3-4 lb Chuck roast
  • Salt, pepper, and garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 Onion sliced
  • 2 tablespoons Minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 12 oz Beer
  • 1 package Au Jus mix
  • 1 ½ cups Beef broth
  • Sub rolls
  • Provolone cheese

Instructions

  • Season your chuck roast well with the salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Heat a skillet on medium-high and melt the butter. Sear the roast on all sides till brown.
  • Add sliced onions and minced garlic into the crockpot.
  • Place the seared chuck roast on top of the onions and garlic.
  • Add Worcestershire sauce, beer, beef broth, and Au Jus packet. Cover and set to low for 8 hours.
  • Once done, quick release pressure. Shred roast with forks and return to juices.
  • Toast sub rolls, pile high with shredded beef and provolone cheese.
  • Dip into broth and serve hot.

Notes

If you prefer not to use beer you can use more beef broth instead.
