Equipment

  • 1 non-stick skillet or frying pan
  • 1 spatula
  • 1 cutting board

Ingredients

  • 4 slices bread white, whole grain, or your choice
  • 4 slices cheese cheddar, American, or any melting cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter for spreading

Instructions

  • Begin by preheating your non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  • Spread 1 tablespoon of butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  • Place two slices of bread butter-side down in the skillet.
  • Lay two slices of cheese on top of the bread in the skillet.
  • Top with the remaining slices of bread, butter-side up.
  • Cook for about 3-5 minutes, or until the bottom slice is golden brown. Carefully flip the sandwich using a spatula.
  • Cook the other side for another 3-5 minutes, or until that side is also golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  • Once both sides are perfectly toasted and the cheese is gooey, remove the sandwiches from the skillet and let them rest for a minute.
  • Slice the sandwiches in half and serve immediately.

Notes

For added flavor, consider adding ingredients like sliced tomatoes, cooked bacon, or fresh herbs between the cheese layers.
If you prefer a crispier sandwich, cook on medium-low heat for a bit longer to ensure the cheese is fully melted without burning the bread.
Experiment with different types of bread and cheese to find your perfect combination.
