- 1 lb ground beef
- 3 cups broccoli florets fresh or frozen
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water (optional, for thickening)
- to taste salt
- to taste pepper
- for serving cooked rice optional
Heat the vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
Add the sliced onions, minced garlic, and ginger to the pan. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the onions are translucent.
Add the broccoli florets to the pan. Stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes until the broccoli is bright green and tender-crisp.
Pour in the soy sauce and oyster sauce, stirring well to combine all ingredients. If you prefer a thicker sauce, add the cornstarch mixture and cook for another minute until the sauce thickens.
Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove the stir-fry from heat.
Drizzle with sesame oil before serving. Serve hot over cooked rice if desired.
You can add other vegetables such as bell peppers or carrots for more color and nutrition.
For a spicier dish, consider adding red pepper flakes or a splash of hot sauce.
This dish can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat before serving.
