Equipment

  • 1 large pot or Dutch oven
  • 1 colander
  • 1 wooden spoon or spatula
  • 1 set measuring cups
  • 1 set measuring spoons
  • 1 cutting board

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 14.5 oz diced tomatoes with juice
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese optional
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Once boiling, add the egg noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • In the same pot or a large Dutch oven, add the ground beef over medium heat. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, for about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  • Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot with the ground beef. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until the onion is translucent.
  • Stir in the diced tomatoes (with their juice), beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
  • Once simmering, reduce heat and let it cook for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  • Add the cooked egg noodles and frozen peas to the pot. Stir until everything is well combined and heated through, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley if desired.
