Equipment

  • 1 large skillet or frying pan
  • 1 measuring cups
  • 1 measuring spoons
  • 1 wooden spoon or spatula
  • 1 cutting board

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 green onions, chopped for garnish
  • optional sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  • Begin by cutting the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces. Pat them dry with paper towels to ensure they cook evenly.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, ground ginger, and black pepper until well combined. Set the mixture aside.
  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the chicken pieces to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for approximately 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is golden and cooked through.
  • Pour the honey garlic sauce over the cooked chicken in the skillet, stirring to coat all the pieces evenly. Allow the sauce to simmer for about 5-7 minutes, or until it thickens slightly and coats the chicken well.
  • Remove the skillet from heat and garnish the Honey Garlic Chicken with chopped green onions and sesame seeds, if using.
  • Serve the dish warm over rice or alongside steamed vegetables.
  • For extra flavor, you can marinate the chicken in the honey garlic mixture for 30 minutes before cooking.
  • If you prefer a spicier version, consider adding red pepper flakes to the sauce.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave or on the stovetop before serving.
