  • 1 skillet
  • 1 colander
  • 1 wooden spoon
  • 1 measuring cups
  • 1 measuring spoons

Ingredients

  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 1 lb Italian sausage Removed from casing.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic Minced.
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper To taste.
  • Fresh parsley Chopped, for garnish.

Instructions

  • In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add a pinch of salt, then add the penne pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the Italian sausage, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Cook until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream. Stir in the Italian seasoning, and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Allow to cook for about 3-5 minutes, allowing it to slightly thicken.
  • Add the cooked penne pasta to the skillet. Toss to combine everything well, then gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and creamy.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
  • Plate the creamy pasta with sausage, garnishing with fresh chopped parsley. Serve immediately.

Notes

For an even richer flavor, you can add a splash of white wine to the sauce before adding the cream.
If you prefer a spicy kick, consider using spicy Italian sausage.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; reheat gently in a skillet.
