Equipment

  • 1 9-inch pie pan
  • 1 mixing bowls
  • 1 whisk
  • 1 measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 rolling pin if making crust from scratch
  • 1 oven

Ingredients

  • 1 9-inch unbaked pie crust
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups pecan halves
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the corn syrup, granulated sugar, eggs, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined and smooth.
  • Stir in the pecan halves until they are evenly distributed in the mixture.
  • Pour the pecan filling into the unbaked pie crust.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is slightly browned.
  • Once baked, remove the pie from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack for at least 2 hours before slicing.
  • Serve the pecan pie at room temperature or slightly warmed, optionally adding a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream on top.

Notes

Serve the pecan pie at room temperature or slightly warmed, and consider adding a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream on top for extra indulgence.
You can substitute dark corn syrup for a richer flavor if desired.
If the edges of the pie crust are browning too quickly during baking, cover them with aluminum foil for the last 15-20 minutes.
