- 1 large mixing bowl
- 1 microwave-safe bowl
- 1 baking sheet
- 1 parchment paper or wax paper

Ingredients
- 6 cups Rice Chex cereal
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ½ cup creamy peanut butter
- ¼ cup unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
Instructions
- Prepare your workspace by lining a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper; set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, measure and add 6 cups of Rice Chex cereal.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine 1 cup of chocolate chips, ½ cup of creamy peanut butter, and ¼ cup of unsalted butter.
- Microwave the mixture on high for 30 seconds. Stir and continue microwaving in 15-second increments until fully melted and smooth.
- Stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract into the melted chocolate mixture.
- Pour the melted mixture over the Rice Chex cereal. Gently stir until the cereal is evenly coated.
- Once coated, transfer the mixture to a large zip-top bag or another large bowl. Add 1 ½ cups of powdered sugar.
- Seal the bag or cover the bowl, then shake or stir until all the cereal is coated in powdered sugar.
- Spread the coated cereal evenly onto the prepared baking sheet to cool. Let it sit for about 15 minutes.
- Break into pieces and enjoy your Puppy Chow!
Notes
Store the Puppy Chow in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
For variety, you can mix in other ingredients such as M&Ms, nuts, or pretzels.
