1 mixing bowl
1 baking sheet
1 parchment paper
1 spoon or cookie scoop
1 oven
- 1 pound ground sausage
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup plain bread crumbs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground sausage, softened cream cheese, and shredded cheddar cheese. Mix until well combined.
Add the bread crumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt to the sausage mixture. Stir until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
Using a spoon or cookie scoop, form the mixture into balls, approximately 1 inch in diameter, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the sausage balls are golden brown and cooked through.
Once baked, remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.
Garnish with chopped parsley if desired before serving.
Feel free to adjust the spices and cheese types to suit your taste. You can add diced jalapeños for a spicy kick or switch out the cheddar for mozzarella for a different flavor profile.
These balls can be made ahead of time and refrigerated before baking. Just add a few extra minutes to the cooking time if baking from cold.
