  • 1 ice bath bowl filled with ice and water

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound large shrimp (16-20 count) peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons horseradish adjust for spice preference
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • as needed pieces lemon wedges for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil. Add the Old Bay seasoning to the boiling water.
  • Once boiling, carefully add the shrimp to the pot. Cook for about 2-3 minutes or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.
  • While the shrimp are cooking, prepare an ice bath by filling a bowl with ice and water.
  • Once the shrimp are cooked, use a colander to drain them and immediately transfer them to the ice bath to stop the cooking process. Let them chill for about 5 minutes.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well to create the cocktail sauce.
  • Once the shrimp are chilled, drain them from the ice bath and arrange them on a serving platter.
  • Serve the shrimp with the cocktail sauce on the side and garnish with lemon wedges.

Notes

Make sure to use fresh shrimp for the best flavor and texture.
The shrimp cocktail sauce can be made ahead of time; just refrigerate until ready to serve.
Feel free to adjust the amount of horseradish in the sauce to suit your taste preferences.
