Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons horseradish (prepared) Adjust based on taste preference for spice.
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)
  • as needed lemon wedges, for garnish
  • as needed fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Fill a large pot with water and add the salt and lemon juice. Bring the water to a boil over high heat.
  • Once the water is boiling, add the shrimp and cook for about 2-3 minutes until they are pink and opaque.
  • Remove the shrimp from the pot using a colander and immediately place them into a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Let sit for 2 minutes, then drain and pat dry.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the ketchup, horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce (if using). Whisk until well blended to create the cocktail sauce.
  • Arrange the cooked shrimp on a serving platter and serve chilled with the cocktail sauce on the side.
  • Garnish with lemon wedges and fresh parsley for added flavor and presentation.

Notes

For added flavor, you can infuse the boiling water with bay leaves or peppercorns.
Adjust the amount of horseradish based on your taste preference for spice.
Serve with additional lemon wedges and cocktail sauce for dipping as needed.
