This Slow Cooker Angel Chicken is the ultimate easy comfort food of creamy shredded chicken over angel hair pasta — made with only 6 pantry-friendly ingredients tossed into the crockpot. Perfectly juicy, tender, and loaded with rich herbed flavor your family will love!
Place the chicken breasts at the bottom of the slow cooker. No stacking, just a nice single layer so they cook evenly.
In a medium bowl, mix together the Italian dressing mix, cream cheese, butter, cream of chicken soup, and chicken broth or white wine until it’s smooth and well blended. This sauce is what you’re gonna pour over your chicken.
Dump that sauce right over the chicken in your slow cooker. Spread it nice so all the chicken is covered by the creamy goodness.
Put the lid on and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours. You’ll hear the pot lid rattle and feel those steam cues, so check after about 4 hours if you want to see how tender it’s getting.
Once the chicken is soft and cooked through, pull it out and shred it up with two forks. Don’t rush the shredding. You want it tender and chunky.
Stir the shredded chicken back into the sauce. Serve over cooked angel hair pasta and get ready to dig in. The pasta soaks up all that creamy sauce real good.
Notes
You can use thighs or tenders instead of breasts. Frozen broccoli or spinach can be added for extra veggies. Serve over rice or mashed potatoes if desired.
