Equipment

  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 electric mixer or whisk
  • 1 measuring cups
  • 1 measuring spoons
  • 1 baking sheet
  • 1 parchment paper
  • 1 cooling rack

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy, using an electric mixer or a whisk.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, and continue mixing until well combined.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them a couple of inches apart.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may appear soft; that's okay as they will continue to set as they cool.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack to cool completely.
