Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy, using an electric mixer or a whisk.
Add the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, and continue mixing until well combined.
In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them a couple of inches apart.
Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may appear soft; that's okay as they will continue to set as they cool.
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack to cool completely.
