Equipment

  • 1 double boiler or microwave-safe bowl
  • 1 baking sheet
  • 1 parchment paper
  • optional toothpicks
  • 1 fork or dipping tool

Ingredients

  • 12 large fresh strawberries About 1 pound.
  • 8 oz white chocolate chips or white chocolate bars, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil Optional, for smoother chocolate.

Instructions

  • Rinse the strawberries under cool water and gently pat them dry with a paper towel. Ensure they are completely dry as water can cause the chocolate to seize.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to place the dipped strawberries on once they are coated.
  • In a double boiler, melt the white chocolate chips over simmering water, stirring until smooth. If using a microwave, heat the chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval until fully melted and smooth. Optionally, stir in 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil for a smoother texture.
  • Hold each strawberry by the stem (or use a toothpick) and dip it into the melted white chocolate, covering it about two-thirds of the way up. Let the excess chocolate drip off.
  • Gently place the dipped strawberries on the prepared parchment paper. Repeat until all strawberries are coated.
  • Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes or until the chocolate is set.
  • Once the chocolate is firm, serve the strawberries immediately or store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • For added flair, consider drizzling some melted dark chocolate over the white chocolate-covered strawberries for a decorative touch.
  • Feel free to sprinkle crushed nuts or colored sprinkles on the chocolate coating before it sets for extra texture and color.
