Equipment

  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 whisk
  • 1 measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 loaf pan (9x5 inches)
  • 1 oven
  • 1 cooling rack

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract optional

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease the loaf pan with cooking spray or butter.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the yogurt, egg, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are fine.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer the bread to a cooling rack to cool completely.
