Apple Cider Pulled Pork Sliders with Pomegranate Bourbon BBQ Sauce
Enjoy tender, flavorful pulled pork slow-cooked in apple cider and topped with a sweet and tangy pomegranate bourbon BBQ sauce. Perfect for sliders and casual get-togethers.
Season the pork shoulder with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear pork on all sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Transfer pork to a roasting pan or slow cooker.
In a bowl, mix apple cider, pomegranate juice, bourbon, ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, honey, and spices.
Pour the sauce mixture over the pork. Add sliced onions and garlic cloves. Add water as needed to keep moist.
Cover and roast in the oven for 8 hours and 10 minutes or until pork is tender and easily shredded.
Remove pork from oven, shred with forks, and mix with sauce.
Serve shredded pork on slider buns topped with coleslaw if desired.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat gently and add extra sauce if needed.
