- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 3 large eggs
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 2 cups pitted cherries Fresh or frozen.
- Butter for greasing baking dish
- Powdered sugar for serving Optional.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease the baking dish with butter.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, and salt.
In another bowl, beat the eggs until well combined. Add the milk and vanilla extract, mixing well.
Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, whisking until smooth and combined.
Pour half of the batter into the greased baking dish.
Evenly distribute the pitted cherries over the batter.
Pour the remaining batter over the cherries.
Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the clafoutis is puffed and golden brown. A toothpick inserted in the center should come out clean.
Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
Clafoutis can be served warm or at room temperature.
